On November 20 of 2024, the newest DLC for Disney Dreamlight Valley came out. "The Storybook Vale" is something that I was waiting for a long time since I've started playing the game circa winter/spring of 2023...
I'm kind of a yumejoshi for Hades, so to speak. For many years, I feel like I'm his Minthe.
In this new DLC, Hades’s visual depiction is surprisingly related to the trad!Hades epithet of “Zeus Chthonios” with his unorthodox lightning imagery. As in the logic that trad!Zeus rules over the mortals, then trad!Hades would rule over their shades (ie. souls) after death.
With his arrival in the game, I'm head over heels with making a husbando shrine in his honour (not taking into account the actual shrine which was coded by the devs).
I’m lucky enough to have a big LCD screen television set onto a coffee table. Nevertheless, I have 2 options of how to display an image of Hades:
While I’m playing my game, if I have some alcohol already on hand, I can temporarily put the glass next to the tv which is displaying Hades’s image.
When it comes to either coffee or tea, Hades likes non-decaf coffee served hot. As a possible nod to a gag from “House of Mouse”, Gaston definitely disliked caffeinated coffee during a friendship quest.
omg! Cookies for Hades!!! X3
He’d be honoured if one would write hymns to him. imho an aretalogy would make him feel mocked and insulted.
Another thing related to writing is, of course, love letters! I know that in a recent game update, they let the villagers send sweet thank you notes to us upon completing frienship quests... Why not retranscribe those messages and then write a response from our pov?
Having official merch related to him near the “tv shrine” is a must. As of November 2024, I currently own:
For candles, I feel that he doesn’t have a preference, although he’d really like *true* fire-based candles. The main scented candle which I have already on hand is marshmallow, although I’m not sure if Hades likes marshmallows in the first place. Just as long that the candle has a pleasant smell... Because of his unwilling involvement with the realm of death from his original canon, Hades may possibly smell far worse than Pumbaa in-game, so pleasantly scented candles would be something he’d be appreciative about.
As for plants on the shrine, besides a small fake Christmas tree for the holidays, idk much about what he likes... In his canon movie, Hades was shown of being able to wilt a flower instantly just by touching it. Perhaps he can kill non-sentient life; the killing of sentient life is more the Fates's domain.
WIP!
